Chris has photographed many of our projects and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to others.

As an architect himself he understands how to capture the design intent and communicate this though really great finished images.

RESIDENTIAL PHOTOGRAPHY EXAMPLES

RESIDENTIAL PHOTOGRAPHY EXPLAINED

To really show off this high ceiling living space for a developer, Chris photographed this house at dusk to highlight this inside space against a dramatic sky.

What's involved?

Residential photography is about taking photos of houses right? Wrong! It's so much more than that, and the type and style of photographs Chris takes depends on what your end gain is.

For instance, the type of photographs Chris takes for an architect looking to promote their design practice, will be different to those he takes for a developer looking to sell apartments and appeal to potential buyers. This is where Chris' 20+ years experience as an architect come to the for, allowing him to respond completely to your specific needs.

Look at that view!

The architect client for this property was keen to emphasise the beautiful view and expansive glazing they had designed into the house. Of course Chris took many photos including the view, but sometimes to really show off the view, you need to focus on the view with just part of the home framing it. In this case a set of patio doors shows off the view and inviting terrace beyond.

Selling the dream

This shoot of a country mansion house was for the owners who were looking to sell. They wanted to sell the dream and maximise the potential sale value.

Chris took a full range of shots but shots like this showing an inviting sun lounger as a focal point set against the back drop of the house are what really grab potential buyers attention, transporting them to that place instantly.

Materials, texture and natural light

Chris uses mainly natural / ambient light for his interior photography which means that materials and textures appear natural and how they do when you're there in person. Some photographers will blast a room with flash light, but this can create very flat images with little atmosphere. Chris' approach does mean extra processing time for him, but he prefers this method as the end results are far more pleasing.
